Orange Coast College now has a new recycling center

Orange Coast College is a world-renowned college in California dedicated to helping students learn and to help the environment. Recently the university has announced that they are building a new recycling center on campus to provide jobs, boost the local economy, and to help the surrounding environment by recycling ordinary substances that would usually go into the trash. Students will have the opportunity to learn how the green process works and how recycling works. With solar panels being used to power the new recycling center, students will have the opportunity to interact with green energy and see how it works on a daily basis. This center will provide a lot of new jobs to local residents and a boost to the local economy because of all the newly produced recycled good that companies in southern California will be able to buy from the Orange Coast College recycling center.

 

 

Founded in 1947 Orange Coast College is a primer university based in southern California, not far from beautiful beaches. Eva Moskowitz and Her Success Academy Network of Schools

Success Academy was founded in the year 2006. Success Academy is a great school network based in New York. Its founder and Chief Executive Officer is known as Eva Moskowitz. She has rich experience as a college professor, teacher, head of the NY City Council’s Education Committee, parent of the public schools, and qualified leader. She had two main goals of helping the public sector of education to be more advanced.

 

She wanted to come up with schools that would improve education in America and also open a high-performance school. This was her dream, and she managed to launch the biggest charter school network found in the City of New York. She focuses on the improvement of student literacy and uses new methods to achieve her goals.

 

Her initiatives include lesson plans which are broken down into how-to-do videos, recommendations of books, and planning of templates. All these were brought about by the THINK Literacy Curriculum. Success Academy was launched and meant to accommodate a curricula in math, sciences, and humanity subjects. Recently, Success Academy among other various schools happened to win a dispute supporting programs to prekindergarten children.

 

Success Academy is trying to redefine what is possible to be done in public schools. The main mission is to provide exceptional and efficient schools that all children from all backgrounds can gain access to success in life and college. It plans to change the policies of public education institutions that make it difficult for children to learn or get opportunities for scholarships.

 

It also helps disadvantaged children, both poor and those with special needs. Over 70 percent of the students from this network are from no or low-income families, over 15 percent are those kids with special needs. The rests are both current and former English Language Learners. Almost every student is a child of color which makes it the perfect institute for learning.

 

Success Academy is operating with a total number of 40 schools giving service to approximately 14,000 children based in Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, and Bronx. To date, it is known for its high performances and free learning opportunities.

Betsy DeVos was currently nominated the United States President Donald J. Trump to serve as the secretary of education. On February 7, 2017, the Senate confirmed her nomination, and she began work as the secretary for education for new regime. For nearly 30 years, Betsy has engaged in various educational matters, advocating for the rights of children to access quality education. Betsy’s mother, who was a public school educator played critically role of motivating her to develop interest in education matters at an early age. After she became a mother and sent her kids to school, Betsy actually realized that not all American children are granted equal opportunity to access quality education. For 15 years, Betsy was involved in mentoring at-risk kids at the Grand Rapids Public schools, where she interacted with students, teachers and families to ensure their perspective towards education is changed forever. Betsy DeVos earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Arts from Calvin College, located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She is married to a renowned businessman Dick DeVos, where they have worked together to support various charities through Dick and Betsy Family Foundation. Before her confirmation to serve as secretary for education, Betsy was serving as the Chair of The Windquest Group, an investment management company. Due to her family’s involvement in charitable donations, she has served on boards of several local and national charity and civic organizations such as Kennedy Center, Art Center, Kids Hope USA, and Mars Hill Bible Church among others. Her previous work in the education sector played critical part of providing her with the opportunity to serve as the secretary for education.
