Roles of Human, Civil and Immigrants’ Rights Organizations

Civil, human and immigrants’ rights have been violated by many countries in the world. Many non-governmental organizations have contributed largely in fighting for the victims who are denied access to these rights. The organizations educate the victims, challenge the legality of the constitution that denies the rights or support financially or technically the groups that fight for the civil, human and immigrants’ rights.

The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA)

The organization was formed as a result of Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.The group is the main body that fights for the rights of the immigrants and individuals in California. Its primary objective is to ensure that everyone has the right to mobility in the state. The organization also ensures that each person participates in promoting democracy.

The inclusion of immigrants in economic development, social and political agendas is one of the primary goals of the organization. The operation of the group is aimed at changing public opinion while changing policies to incorporate the civil, immigrant and human rights.
Lacey & Larkin Frontera Fund

The organization is run by Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin. The group funds the organizations which are fighting for civil, human, and migrant rights in Arizona. Advocating for freedom of speech and civic participation is one of the agendas being advocated by the group.

Michael and Jim use $3.75 million which they were awarded as a resettlement for the case they won against Maricopa County Sheriff. Sheriff Joe Arpaio had arrested the two reporters due to the story they had covered about him.

The two journalists won the case, and they were awarded $3.75 million settlement scheme. Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin use the funds to support the organizations that advocate for human, civil and immigrants’ rights.

Equal Justice Network

The group is involved in promoting civil legal rights to assist low-income population. The expansion and strengthening of the civil rights have been achieved by the organization by using collaborative efforts of the various advocates. The advocates are drawn from legal service fields, private bar, and law schools.

The organization has improved the rights of the low-income earners and poor people in the society. The objectives have been achieved due to the willingness of the advocates to renders their services during the fight for the equal justice in the community.

Human Rights First

The group is a non-profit and nonpartisan organization which protects people from risks. Refugees and victims of racial discrimination are some of the people that are protected by the organization. The organization ensures that the people obtain justice in the judicial process.
