Tony Petrello: A Helping Hand In Tough Situations

This article is about Tony Petrello and how he helped with the Houston situation this summer. In August of 2017 areas in Houston Texas and surrounding areas had been hit hard by Hurricane Harvey. Many drastic consequences resulted: supplies were scarce, streets were flooded, and homes have been destroyed. They have been scarce since food and the demand for necessities had been so spread out.

After this many famous businesses in Houston decided to step up and help right after the disaster. H-E-B and the Houston Food Bank were two examples of companies who helped. Also, another company Nabors Industries quickly responded. Tony Petrello is the CEO of Nabors industries, and according to his mind workers from any company went at the place they need to. Giving back to the community is an important part of the culture of the company Nabors Industries. It is something that Tony has passion for.

Sadly, close to ten percent of the 1,2000 workers had been affected by the hurricane. According to marketwatch.com Nabors employees were getting time off and paid for it in order to go help. This was for appreciation. Petrello actually decided to match relief contributions of the employees of a company. The amount was $173,622.

Now some general information about Tony Petrello. The name should be known for those who follow philanthropy and charitable events in the city of Houston. He demonstrates and takes social responsibility seriously and frequently. Even though he was originally from New Jersey Houston is the focus and home of most of his philanthropic efforts. His wife is named Cynthia who he met in College in Yale University, both of them enjoy generously donating together.

One reason why he and his wife enjoy donating is because of childhood neurological disorders. This was something his daughter had and there wasn’t enough information available about the disorder. He then decided to give a great donation amounting up to $7 million to the Texas Children’s Hospital. The board of the hospital let Tony serve as a member and to assist in arranging future efforts of fundraising. Due to the generous donation from Tony’s family, the facility became the first neurological research center for disorders in children.

Anthony G. Petrello is the Chief Executive Officer, President, and Chairman of the Committee of Nabors Industries Ltd. It’s based in Hamilton, Bermuda. The company is the largest natural and geothermal gas drilling contractor in the world.
